A Rescued Shiba puppy in Chicago needs surgery

hi all,

I know a lot of people already do awesome amounts of work in NYC to help shibas but i wanted to send out this email about a shiba puppy in chicago who needs some help. below is the body of the email i received from the "I Love Shiba Inus" group on Facebook regarding Selphie, a 3 month old pup:

A little Shiba puppy in Chicago needs our help.

She is a rescued dog (I believe from a puppy mill) who was born with grade 5 luxating patellas and needs some very expensive surgery to correct them or she'll never be able to walk when she gets older. The surgery costs over $2,000.

The people that took her in are a mother and daughter in the Chicago suburbs who currenty have 11 rescued, homeless, Shibas in need in their home! They are paying out of their own pocket for these dogs because they are still in the process of becoming a non profit! Even if they were a non profit, fundraising would be entirely up to them! They have taken in this little girl who most shelters would have put down and are asking for any help they can get!

What a cute pup. I just donated $20. Every bit will get them closer to their goal. I can't stand the thought of a shiba not being able to run the Shibs 500 so I hope they raise the money they need so she can have the surgery soon.
